The dream machine of the 80s, costing over $100,000, was unattainable for most people. Used by countless renowned artists such as Peter Gabriel, David Bowie, Michael Jackson, Kate Bush, Herbie Hancock, Jean-Michel Jarre, and Thomas Dolby, this instrument remains highly valued and sought after. We, as is often the case, indulged in nostalgia and decided to create a new instrument inspired by this legendary studio icon. Ultimately, we created three instruments: a digital synth, a digital drum machine, and a multi-frazer. We adopted a unique hybrid approach, combining our own rigorous sampling process with the advanced digital processing algorithms and modeling capabilities of the UVI engine. This approach allows us to capture the raw characteristics of the original machine while utilizing all the latest controls. The result is an incredibly flexible system that allows you to quickly recall classic sounds or bring old voices into new sonic realms. This compact yet powerful 2GB of UVI instruments features powerful analog modeling filters, LFOs, envelopes, and effects, all housed in a beautiful old-school interface.

Page P - Digital Synth: Instantly access hundreds of sounds and instruments, including bass, brass, bells, strings, guitar, orchestral hits, synths, drums, percussion, FX, keys, piano, organ, wind instruments, leads, and voices. An efficient and versatile control set allows for everything from quick adjustments to deep sonic exploration. Accurately reproduces aliasing characteristics. Over 250 ready-to-play presets. Numerous effects, including the new UVI SparkVerb™, allow you to create sounds like the original machines, process them to sound like your favorite 80s cult records, or create entirely new sounds.

Page B - The Darklight digital drum machine enhances your rhythm section as an 80s-style beatbox with a built-in retro step sequencer. It includes hundreds of authentic vintage drum and percussion sounds in one unit. Over 250 sounds and 25 ready-to-play configurations evoke pure 80s nostalgia. Customize your kits using per-instrument filters or transform them with the included UVI effects.

Page U - The Creative Multi-Phraser digital sampling workstation takes the genre and adds a fun, creative twist. Build and layer sounds to create unique loops and progressions with distinctive old-school digital sounds. Over 100 sounds are available, divided into three parts, each with its own dedicated sequencer lane. Create original melodies, loops, phrases, drones, and more with authentic vintage digital sounds.
