Valve-Saturated Compressor
X-ValveComp is a full-featured mono or stereo channel compressor that combines a complete set of classic channel compressor controls with an additional "valve" emulation stage. Positioned after the compressor in the signal path, the valve emulation stage primarily adds variable levels of second-order harmonic saturation and distortion, enriching the sound with thickness and color.
The compressor offers switchable Peak and RMS modes and includes a comprehensive set of controls: Threshold, Ratio, Knee, Attack, Release, and Hold. It features input and output metering with dedicated displays for the amount of gain reduction, as well as input and output level controls. It also includes a Gain Make-Up control and a switchable Auto Gain Make-Up mode.
A dedicated Wet/Dry mix control facilitates parallel compression, while side-chain inputs—along with high-pass and low-pass filters—can be used to trigger compression. X-ValveComp supports standard DAW automation and features A/B preset slots with a switch, allowing for easy comparison between two different setting configurations.
