SSL Fusion Transformer
Low-frequency harmonic saturation and high-frequency brilliance
The SSL Fusion Transformer plugin emulates Fusion's switchable SSL Transformer circuit. The 600-ohm, 1:1-winding low-attenuation transformer adds low-frequency thickness and high-frequency brilliance to the signal, giving it subtle weight as a result of the LF saturation and frequency phase shift caused by the circuit's drive.
Use SHINE to enhance or remove HF phase and EQ effects, and increase AMOUNT to amplify harmonic distortion. Both controls can be used to amplify the effect beyond the original circuit. The MIX control allows you to blend with the original signal to adjust the transformer's mojo to the optimal amount.
The SSL Fusion Transformer plugin includes a feature to further enhance bass impact by bypassing LF EXTEND (the natural low-frequency roll-off that occurs when driving the transformer circuit), an ECO mode for tracking and recording, and built-in help. Simply click the question mark (?) in the lower right corner and hover your mouse over the GUI to display contextual guidance and information about the plugin and its controls.

SSL Fusion HF Compressor
Reduces unwanted harshness in tracks and mixes.
The SSL Fusion HF Compressor plugin emulates the high-frequency smoothing circuitry of SSL Fusion stereo outboard hardware processors.
This compressor affects only frequencies above the crossover, resulting in a uniquely rounded high-frequency sound. Ratio, attack, and release are all optimized for maximum transparency, and smooth compression and tape-like high-frequency roll-off reduce unwanted harshness that accumulates in mixes and individual stems.
In addition to the functionality of the original hardware, the SSL Fusion HF Compressor plugin introduces MIX and AUTO GAIN controls, allowing you to adjust the optimal amount of HF smoothing with a dial and apply automatic makeup gain to compressed frequencies. Combined with the feedback from the original hardware's gain reduction graph, meters, and circuit activity LEDs, it makes quickly suppressing harsh sounds easy.
The SSL Fusion HF Compressor plugin also introduces a built-in help feature—a brand-new feature of the SSL plugin engine—in addition to an ECO mode for tracking and recording. Simply click the question mark "?" in the lower right corner and hover your mouse over the GUI to display contextual guidance and information about the plugin and its controls.
Features
- Modeled after the SSL Fusion HF compressor processor
- Now available in plugin format, allowing use on all tracks, as well as on mixes and master buses.
- Achieve analog-style HF rounding to suppress fragile high frequencies.
- Remove sibilance from vocals, soften electric guitar sounds, and reduce cymbal sounds in drum tracks.
- Achieve stunning results quickly with extremely simple THRESHOLD and X-OVER controls.
- Ratio, Attack, and Release are internally optimized for maximum transparency.
- The MIX control helps you adjust the optimal amount of HF smoothing non-destructively.
- AUTO GAIN applies automatic compensation gain to high frequencies. Try using it on drums with extreme settings to suppress harsh sounds while maintaining cymbal crispness.

SSL Fusion Stereo Image
The SSL Fusion Stereo Image plugin models the mid-side processing circuitry of the SSL Fusion stereo outboard hardware processor.
This true analog circuitry utilizes the technique of splitting a stereo signal into two channels: the sum of the center (M) sound (L+R) and the difference signal of the left and right (S) sounds (LR). This allows you to narrow or widen the stereo image using the WIDTH control. The SPACE circuit is a frequency-dependent width control based on the concept of stereo shuffle, allowing you to add interesting depth effects to your mix. Available now in your DAW!
SSL Fusion Stereo Image features a brand-new SHUFFLE control for changing the frequency cutoff of the SPACE circuit, a built-in polarity sample vectorscope for detailed insight into the signal's stereo field, and a SOLO SIDE function for easy auditory auditioning of the signal's stereo field. Combined with the SSL plugin engine's A/B functionality, you'll see how SSL Fusion Stereo Image makes a difference to your mix.
Features
- Modeled after the SSL Fusion stereo image processor.
- Based on the concept of modern stereo, stereo shuffle, invented in 1931 by EMI engineer Alan Blumlein.
- The WIDTH control allows you to narrow or widen the stereo image by increasing the level of the side signal.
- The SPACE control allows you to experiment with boosting or cutting a wide range of bass frequencies in the side signal.
- The SHUFFLE parameter allows for further fine-tuning of the frequency cutoff of the SPACE circuit.
- Visualize the stereo image of the signal using a polar coordinate sample plot vectorscope.
- SOLO SIDE allows for easy auditioning of the stereo components of the signal.
- The "M/S" toggle allows for easy switching of the input and output meters to mid-side mode.
