[Limited-time free] SynthMaster 2 for iOS (normally $19.99), a powerful SynthMaster  2 software synthesizer for iPadOS with 1,000 presets, is available for free for a limited time.

KV331 Audio is pleased to announce the release of SynthMaster 2.9, its award-winning software synthesizer, for the iOS platform. SynthMaster 2 is the first app developed using KV331 Audio's new cross-platform UI framework, and runs on iPads running iOS 11 or later as a standalone app or as an AUv3 plug-in.

SynthMaster 2 supports the native resolutions of various iPad devices. Four different skins are available for the user interface, tailored for 9.7-inch, 11-inch, and 12.9-inch iPads. Dedicated interfaces are also available for AudioUnit plug-ins.

SynthMaster 2 comes with 1,000 factory presets designed by world-class sound designers, including BigTone, Nori Ubukata, NatLife, and Yuli Yolo. A comprehensive preset browsing feature makes it easy to filter presets by author, bank, instrument type, or preset name to find the sound you're looking for.

There's also an IAP shop where users can purchase additional sounds, such as desktop preset upgrades and SynthMaster expansion banks from KV331 Audio.

Sound Engine
At the heart of SynthMaster 2's powerful sound engine are oscillators, modulators, and filters.

Oscillators
Oscillators operate in four different modes to generate sound.

In Basic mode, oscillators play single-cycle waveforms or samples. Enabling Oscillator Unison allows for up to eight voices per oscillator.

Additive mode allows you to stack the eight basic oscillators to create richer tones.
In Wavetable mode, the oscillator can play wavetables up to 256 frames long.
In Vector mode, four basic oscillators are mixed in two dimensions.
Modulator
Modulators are basic oscillators that can be added to other oscillators or modulate the phase of other oscillators or modulators. By connecting modulators to other oscillators or modulators, complex FM tones can be synthesized.

Importing Wave Files to SynthMaster
When designing sounds, users can easily import wave files into SynthMaster 2. SynthMaster 2 classifies these files as waveforms, wavetables, or multisamples and imports them accordingly.

Filter
Once sound is generated by the oscillator, it passes through SynthMaster's filter. Filters can operate in six different categories: Digital, VAnalog, Ladder, Diode Ladder, State Variable, and Byte.

Custom distortion can also be applied before or after the filter.

Modulation Architecture
SynthMaster 2 features a comprehensive modulation architecture with a wide range of modulation sources.

Real-time visual feedback lets you see how modulation sources and targets change as you play notes. This is extremely useful when designing sounds in SynthMaster 2.

Real-time visual feedback lets you see how modulation sources and targets change as you play notes. This is extremely useful when designing sounds in SynthMaster 2.

Easily create new modulations by simply dragging and dropping modulation sources onto knob or slider controls.

Clicking on a modulation source makes it easy to see which controls are being modulated by which modulation source. Controls modulated by that source display the modulation amount. Press and hold a control to edit the modulation amount without going through the modulation matrix.

Arpeggiator/Sequencer
SynthMaster features a comprehensive 32-step arpeggiator/sequencer. Users can easily create sequences by recording each step individually.

Effects
SynthMaster's two layers each have five insert effect slots, allowing you to instantiate 13 different effects to any slot. Two global effect send buses are also provided, allowing you to create more complex effect routings.
