Heartbeat may give you heart palpitations. Modeling classic analog synthesis, it combines advanced features and flexibility to create a dream drum synth. The modeled analog sound engine, Auto Layer Machine, and top-of-the-line effects make Heartbeat the ultimate beat-making package.

Synthesis Engine
While Heartbeat is inspired by the best analog drum synths of the 1980s, it doesn't emulate any existing drum machine. The majority of sounds are derived from Softube's proprietary analog synthesis modeling, enhanced with carefully selected waveforms.

At the heart of Heartbeat are eight instrument channels. Two distinct bass drum channels deliver punch and depth, perfectly capturing snap and powerful woody textures. Two dedicated snare drum channels each have six parameters, allowing you to freely tweak anything from edgy rim shots to soft, whispering snare rolls to mechanical claps.

The percussion channels are identical, modeling everything from '80s-style synth toms to cowbells and noise drops. And like the other channels, the hi-hat and cymbal channels also feature flexible synthesis engines that can be tweaked to your heart's content.

Effects
To make Heartbeat a one-stop shop for beat programming, we've added a full-featured effects section. This includes the popular Valley People Dyna-mite model and a slightly improved version of one of our perennial bestsellers, the TSAR-1 reverb. Dyna-mite is like a Swiss Army knife for serious sound shaping. Whether you're looking for limiting, compression, gating, or sidechain ducking, Dyna-mite has it all. And TSAR-1 is simply the most gorgeous plug-in reverb ever.

The all-new Filter Echo is a filter-delay effect with adjustable cutoff and resonance. Plus, output saturation can be adjusted from juicy to gritty—a feature not available in any other Softube product.

Each of the eight channels has a dedicated mixer channel with controls for volume, pan, ping-pong (auto-panning), EQ (tailored to each instrument), and send levels to the reverb and delay effects.

A Unique Heart

Heartbeat is not just about sound, it's about inspiration and interaction. That's where the innovative Auto Layer Machine comes in. The Auto Layer Machine features four channels, each capable of layering sounds or triggering a series of events. This allows you to create new sound textures or auto-fill patterns in up to four steps.

If that sounds too predictable, move the Chaos slider to the right. This adds an element of randomness, from subtle changes to the pandemonium of a massive trigger riot.

Flexible global velocity parameter knobs control volume, pitch, attack, and decay, making Heartbeat highly responsive to velocity changes. Time Gate shortens the overall decay, creating a harsh, rigid machine sound.
