Use Compactor in conjunction with the sidechain input to limit one signal (e.g., bass) at the sample rate based on the amplitude of another signal (e.g., kick) (a.k.a. Attack
The attack value determines how far into the audio the ducking will occur. The higher the value, the sooner the ducking will begin.
Hold
The Hold value determines how long the signal is ducked when the input no longer exceeds the threshold.
Release
The Release value sets how long it takes for the audio to return to full volume after the input no longer exceeds the threshold and the hold phase ends.
Threshold
When the sidechain level reaches the threshold, the input is silenced. Without a sidechain, the input is limited to the threshold level.
Mode
In RMS mode, the Compactor measures volume using the root-mean-square method to accurately measure audio power. In PEAK mode, the Compactor tracks peaks in the audio waveform on a sample-by-sample basis, ensuring no peaks exceed the threshold. In ISP mode, the Compactor tracks all peaks in the audio waveform, including those occurring between samples.
Range
Sets the range of gain reduction. Values above 100% exaggerate the effect.
Stereo
Adjusts the correlation of processing between the left and right channels. At 0%, both channels are processed equally. At 100%, the left and right channels are processed independently.
Side Chain
When enabled, the attenuation is calculated based on the secondary input, but the effect is applied to the main input.
