8TT by Discreet Signals, a new 8-band OTT plug-in based on the legendary Xfer Records OTT multiband compressor, is now available for free. A kind of advanced OTT rather than OTT alternatives.
It features an increased number of bands and an easy-to-understand UI. I tried it out myself, and while the 8-band design may seem daunting, it's surprisingly intuitive thanks to its easy-to-understand downward and upward controls and surprisingly extensive presets. While the default is 8 bands, you can add more later (you can split it by double-clicking, but can't you reduce it?), making it simple to use. Band boundaries can also be adjusted by moving them. The approximate band levels are visualized, making it easy to see the compression level. Parallel processing is also supported.
3-band OTT presets are also available. Supports up to 8x oversampling.
This 8-band OTT plug-in features an excellent UI. You can intuitively adjust sound dynamics without having to learn an outdated, complex interface.
