How do you take a legendary compressor like the 1176 and not only make it stand out, but also evolve it even further? This was the vision of the MC77, developed by Purple Audio in the late 1990s. The MC77 started with a faithful reproduction of the MC77 "E" version, one of the most iconic solid-state limiting amplifiers in history. From there, we took the perfect high-performance components, closely recreating the original while adding modern features to the all-discrete signal path.

With an incredibly fast attack time, flexible release, four-stage ratio, and multi-button mode, the MC77 can deliver anything from polished, transparent dynamics to brick-wall-shaking stopping power.

The Brainworx team continued to develop this perfect emulation from the ground up. By adding TMT technology, we combined the various analog units of the MC77 into one plugin.
