Color your sound

Like its popular sibling PITCHMAP, PITCHMAP::COLORS quickly and easily transforms any audio into the timbre you desire. But it has a distinctly electronic flavor, geared towards sound design. Switch between the natural-sounding SICK, the beautifully resonant INSANE, and the seductively electric WTF (Warp Those Frequencies) modes with a single click.

Map your pitch

PITCHMAP::COLORS splits the incoming audio into separate sounds based on pitch, and shifts each sound up or down to a pitch grid. This grid can be easily set using the UI keyboard or a MIDI keyboard. Just play the chord you want to adjust the tonality of your audio. Transform major into minor, A minor 7 into F# major, or wobble bass and noise into harmonics... it's magic!

The mixed incoming audio is split into separate notes and mapped to the grid slots.

PITCHMAP::COLORS does more than just pitch-map your audio. Not only can you switch between three great pitch-mapping algorithms, but it also features scale shifting, advanced formant processing, a transient bypass function, and high-pass/low-pass filters. Achieve unprecedented harmonic processing in just seconds.

Scale shift

Sweeping the pitch grid is easier than ever with the new scale shift parameter. Find the sweet spot in your scale, or automate scale shifting with a single MIDI-controllable parameter for new arranging techniques.

Formant shifting and gamma

PITCHMAP::COLORS features a powerful formant shifter that alters the loudness of your sounds to make larger pitch shifts sound more natural. With a two-octave range, it can handle anything from a devilish roar to a lively chipmunk, and with 0.01 semitone resolution, it allows for incredibly smooth automation.

The Formant Shifter has a unique feature called "FORMANT GAMMA" that accentuates formant peaks and troughs. The effect is really cool and hard to describe... think of it as a complex, self-modulating filter oid. This filter creates innovative, organic-sounding changes that add movement and alien atmosphere to your mix.

Transient Bypass

The more extreme sound modes can coolly smooth out transients, but sometimes you want that sound while still preserving transient detail. That's when PITCHMAP::COLOR's easy-to-use, great-sounding TRANSIENT BYPASS comes into play. Simply adjust the amount of transient, and the pitch mapping is adjusted, then mixed in. Plus, you can boost it beyond its original level with one control.
