Preparation 2 by Physical Audio, a cutting-edge physical modeling strings synthesizer, is now 40% off for $59.

Preparation 2 uses the latest physical modeling technology to build extended string instrument virtual worlds. Two strings collide with a rattle and dynamic frets, delivering rich acoustic timbres ranging from unique instruments to experimental soundscapes.

Physical Modeling of Prepared Strings: Preparation is based on mathematical modeling of three fundamental elements: strings that can be configured as bars, a rattle that connects the strings, and a dynamic fret. Each voice contains two strings, excited by customizable plucking, bowing, or side-chained audio. User-customizable acoustic model properties allow for a wide range of sounds, from unique instruments to experimental soundscapes. Preparation leverages the latest research in collision modeling and fast solver technology.

Nonlinear Physical Modeling
Nonlinear strings can be excited with customizable plucks, allowing you to select different impulses for minimum and maximum note-on velocity. You can also recreate the sound of a virtual bow by controlling bowing strength with the pitch bend wheel and position with the modulation wheel.

Dynamic Frets and Rattle
Rattle elements are positioned across two strings, transferring the energy of one string's impact to the other. Each element has variable mass at each end, with configurable stiffness, gap, and edge parameters. Frets are located beneath the strings, allowing each string to potentially strike a fret depending on the vibration amplitude and the distance between them.

Modulation and FX
Tweak your sound with five modules: a full-fledged equalizer, compressor, modulation, shaper, and delay/reverb. Each module can be rearranged and further programmed using tabs. Preparation 2's EQ, distortion, drive, fuzz, phaser, tremolo, and wah effects are provided by Orastron's Brickworks. Plus, it features two LFOs, keyboard, and velocity modulation, allowing you to customize the model's response and FX parameters.

Until  2nd October.
