The Hammersmith Professional Edition by Soniccouture , a realistic grand piano library, is now 60% off at $99.
After much deliberation about how to approach this, and spending time researching "special" pianos with important recording and historical records, we came across a Model D (the legendary full-size Steinway Grand) with a MIDI system for automatic playing, owned by Steinway expert Andrew Giller. By being able to trigger the piano with MIDI, we get a very uniform and consistent velocity response for each key, allowing us to collect a lot of clean and consistent data without having to leave the studio.

Piano sounds and feels different to different people, but the Hammersmith Pro offers many different sounds and feels by selecting and blending microphones, adjusting touch response, fine-tuning pedal and damper noise, and tuning each key. It also features a standard random arpeggiator "JAMMER" and a sequence generator "WEAVER" that supports 8-voice polyphony, allowing for a wide range of performance expression. It also supports active sound creation with three-stage effects, EQ, saturator, and convolution reverb, with content selectable at will. By making full use of these elements, you will be able to create the piano you need right now.

Includes the sound of a Steinway Grand Model D equipped with a MIDI system for automatic playing. All keys were sampled in 21 velocity layers with the sustain pedal up and down. We were able to obtain a natural sustain sound, including the resonance of all strings when the sustain pedal is pressed. Details such as key-off noise, damper noise, and pedal operation sounds are also included.
