50 years of analog design in one plug-in

Introducing the Heritage Audio BritStrip plug-in. It's a faithful recreation of Heritage Audio's exclusive BritStrip console channel strip, a modern staple in thousands of studios around the world. BritStrip combines a rich inductor-based 73-style equalizer with the famous diode bridge compressor from Heritage Audio's popular Successor.

Extended 73 Equalizer

The impact of BritStrip EQ is incredible, and surprisingly musical even at extreme boosts. The mids are perfect for shaping thick, punchy snares, kicks, guitars and vocals. Unlike most equalizers, BritStrip maintains clarity even at extreme settings, preventing phase issues and signal degradation. A class-A high-pass filter removes excess low frequencies without compromising the overall quality of the signal, and the high and low shelves include bell modes for precise tonal shaping.

A compressor like its predecessor

This powerful diode bridge model compressor design is ideal for tracking, with thorough dynamic control for a thick, solid, punchy sound. It features a "blend" function for a perfect balance between the original and compressed signals, and a sidechain filter to focus compression on specific frequencies. This allows performers to monitor the finished real-time sound while recording, improving the overall performance experience.

Routing flexibility

BritStrip offers a wide variety of internal routing options. Equalizing before compression makes the compression detector more sensitive to boosted frequencies and less sensitive to cut frequencies. And equalizing after compression makes the detector less affected by EQ settings, giving you more control over the final sound.

Two versions for different needs

Heritage Audio designed the BritStrip plug-in to pair seamlessly with the i73 Pro Series interface and complement its 73-style analog preamps. However, as more users explored the plug-in, its potential as a standalone tool was recognized. To accommodate different workflows, Heritage Audio introduced two versions: the lightweight BritStrip without preamps and the full version with meticulously modeled Heritage Audio 73-style preamps. Users can choose the version that best suits their needs.
