AVA Multiband Compressor by Harrison, a multiband compressor with an intelligent algorithm that delivers glue fx & clear mix,  is 88% OFF at the lowest price ever of $9.What is the AVA Multiband Compressor?

The AVA Multiband Compressor is the latest implementation of Harrison's acclaimed multiband compression algorithm used in ultra-high-end post-production and film production facilities around the world. Now in its fourth generation, the Harrison Multiband Compression algorithm has been continuously refined by customers involved in high-end music, film, broadcast and video post-production.

Harrison's reputation for "true analog-in-the-box" sound comes from our unique development tradition of first creating analog processors and then converting the processors to digital while preserving the original sound and character.

The result is the very essence of "Harrison": effortless, smooth and transparent.

CONTROLS
GRAPH

The main display graph allows you to control the frequency and depth of the four bands.

Click and drag anywhere in a band to change the frequency and depth of that band. Use the scroll wheel to adjust just the depth to get exactly the amount you want.

RTA CONTROLS

The main display also features a high-precision, fast RTA analyzer ("Spectrum Graph" or "Scroll Graph") that lets you choose to view the display before or after your EQ adjustments. It also features a Decay knob and a Trim control to control the decay rate of the display.

INPUT THRESHOLD CONTROLS

The main input meter and threshold slider (on the left) control the amount of material entering the plugin (-60dB to 0dB). Lowering the threshold slider (lowering the threshold) will increase the overall compression effect.

Additionally, each band has its own input meter and threshold, allowing you to fine-tune the amount of material each band processes (-15dB to +15dB).

Band Bypass and Band Solo Controls

Each band can be bypassed and removed from processing by clicking its associated "IN" button.

Each band can also be soloed so you can hear the material the band is working on.

Band Frequency and Band Depth Controls

The Band Frequency control controls the low frequencies of the band's bandwidth. Adjusting the start frequency of a band may change the width of adjacent bands. Available frequencies are:

Band 1 - 20Hz
Band 2 - 50 - 400Hz
Band 3 - 145Hz - 2.5kHz
Band 4 - 1kHz - 8kHz
Attack, Release, Knee, Make-up Gain

Attack (200μs - 20ms) - The "Attack" knob controls how long it takes for a signal above the threshold to reach full compression.
Release (20ms - 200ms) - The "Release" knob controls how long it takes for the signal to return to an uncompressed state after it falls below the threshold.
Knee (3dB - 24dB) - The knee control determines how far the signal must exceed the threshold before the full compression effect is achieved. A smaller knee setting results in a more aggressive compression effect.
Makeup Gain (0dB - 12dB) - The Makeup Gain control allows you to apply additional gain to the output signal to "make up" for the attenuation applied by the compression.
Auto Solo - The Auto Solo control allows you to automatically audition bands as you modify them. This helps you see the frequency content of a band while adjusting its frequency range.

Expander

The Expander control switches the primary operation of the Compressor from a multiband compressor to a multiband expander.

In Expander mode, a gain reduction curve is applied when the signal falls below the band's threshold.

Key Input

The Ext. Key control allows you to use the sidechain as a drive signal for the Compressor. When Key Input is enabled, the following occurs:

The main input meter and threshold refer to the KEY (side chain) input, not the main input.
When a band is soloed (with auto solo), you hear the main signal input, not the side chain.
The side chain EQ applies to the key input signal.
Side Chain EQ - The side chain EQ is a single band equalizer. By setting the shape of the band (high pass/low pass filter, bell, high/low shelf), you can vary the signal being compressed in each of the four bands. For example, you can use the filter to remove all high frequency content from the side chain input and use only the low frequency content to drive the compressor bands.

Features
  • Intelligent algorithms allow you to get great results with minimal effort.
  • Band solo and auto solo functions make it easy to set the desired frequency range.
  • The RTA analyzer display helps you identify problematic frequency ranges.
  • Up to 12dB reduction possible on each band.
  • Side chain "key" input with dedicated EQ.
  • Zero-latency processing makes it suitable for 'live' use.
  • 'Extended' mode allows for additional creative effects.
  • The 'Ear' icon activates a momentary bypass function, allowing you to audition the unaffected signal while the mouse button is held down, and settings are restored when the button is released.
  • Clicking the 'Gear' icon launches a menu with additional functions such as resizing, theme selection and plugin version numbers.
The alternative 'Vintage' theme uses the color scheme of Harrison's large console software.

Until 10th July.
