Description
About a year ago, my friend Maxel kindly gave me a Brazilian cavaquinho. It's essentially a small stringed instrument about the size of a tenor ukulele. Like the ukulele, the cavaquinho's roots date back to Portuguese folk instruments, sharing DNA with Portuguese instruments like the braguinha and rajon. Unlike the ukulele, the cavaquinho uses steel strings, resulting in a distinctly brighter tone. We've strived to recreate that tone to the fullest extent possible in this library.
Basic Stats:
Three round robins for natural, diverse playing
Two velocity layers for dynamic expression
Recorded with both a DI contact mic and a ribbon mic, with knobs to fade out the two sources
Chorus, reverb, tone, shimmer, and release controls
Optimized for Decent Sampler (requires free sampler)
In addition to the regular note mode, we've also added a "STRUMS" tab, which allows you to play a variety of four-note chords with the instrument.
This sample set captures the instrument's natural charm and playability, making it perfect for adding an authentic Brazilian flavor to your productions, whether you're composing bossa nova or folk arrangements or adding an acoustic texture to electronic music.
Requirements: Suitable sampler (free plug-in/standalone)
Format: Compatible with all major DAWs
You can use that with free Decent Sampler.
