EDComp by Analog Obsession is a new free S-type based channel compressor.
A pre-emphasis and de-emphasis based compressor with a "CLEAN" mode.
EDComp features an S-type based channel compressor with ratio and threshold. The threshold is fixed at a high value, but the ratio starts at 1:1 and can be adjusted up to 10:1. This allows for smoother control and better level adjustment.
EDComp emphasizes or suppresses low and high frequencies in ED mode. It is a kind of tilt EQ, but it is not a precise frequency band when it comes to emphasizing and suppressing. It has frequencies and boost/cut values carefully selected especially for vocals, but can be used for any source.
There is no emphasis or de-emphasis in CL mode.
Attack and release are fixed at 15ms and 80ms respectively.
