Weiss Exciter by Softube, the world's first transparent mastering exciter, has been released! 50% off for launch sale at $99.

Can an exciter be considered transparent?

Developed in collaboration between Softube and Weiss Engineering, Weiss Exciter achieves something that other exciter plugins cannot. It adds harmonic content naturally, as if it were part of the original sound, without any excessive distortion or exaggerated EQ.

The result is a subtle and transparent increase in vividness and definition while maintaining the integrity of the mix. Harmonics sound very organic, as if they were there from the beginning.

How transparent?

Traditional exciters often over-process by overemphasizing bright EQ or applying heavy multi-band distortion. The result is an overly processed sound with no real sonic character. Weiss Exciter offers a more sophisticated solution. It enriches your audio with musically meaningful harmonics and minimal EQ coloration. This is achieved through four main features: adaptive nonlinearity to produce consistent harmonics at any level, a mastering mode to reduce the fundamental frequency of distortion, a sharp phase correction filter, and four mathematically defined harmonic modes. Weiss Exciter is a technological leap in harmonic excitation with the precision and transparency that the Weiss name deserves.

Easy to use and with expert mastering capabilities

Despite its advanced processing power, Weiss Exciter is intuitive to use. The frequency visualization allows you to define the focus bands of excitation and the output bands where harmonics are added. You can also work with four harmonic modes, stereo width, filter type, and a unique mastering switch. For professional mastering engineers, an expert panel is available, giving you even more control over harmonic shaping to achieve the highest level of precision and transparency.
